We’re so proud that we’ll be celebrating the 60th anniversary of Imitation of Life, with the 1959 classic serving as our opening film for the festival.
Legendary actress Juanita Moore will be highlighted for her nomination for Best Supporting Actress by the Academy Awards for her role. The movie, which dealt with issues of race and class, also featured such female greats as Mahalia Jackson, Lana Turner, Sandra Dee and Susan Kohner. In all more than 60 films will be screened at the festival.
