Virtual Screening: Greenwood Avenue

June 15 | 11:00 am - June 17 | 12:00 pm CDT

$10

Greenwood Avenue is a virtual reality experience, created by Ayana Baraka, about a 14-year-old girl who lives in the Greenwood District, also known as Black Wall Street, during the 1920s. This scripted five-part series follows her coming-of-age story while revealing the history of Black Wall Street and the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921.

“Greenwood Avenue: A Virtual Reality Experience” will be holding a virtual reality screening in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Greenwood Cultural Center on June 15-17. We close out the 1921 Race Massacre Centennial Commemoration and we lead into the Juneteenth festivities. Screenings are followed by a conversation and never before seen video of Dr. Hooker.
