The first & only all-Black sketch comedy troupe in Dallas brings a virtual Comedy Experience to DBFF22
The 2022 Denton Black Film Festival has moved the ‘Saturday Night Live’ comedy event to the virtual stage for more days to ‘Laugh Out Loud’. The Stand-up Comedy and Improv Show co-hosted by ‘The Movie Brutha’ Ant Johnson and Mary Flowers Boyce will be available starting February 1st, 2022 until the end of the festival. Featuring Improv group FCC Presents, Comedians Javoris James, Fred T, Latrice Wilkerson, & More!
FCC Presents Improv is the first and only all-black sketch comedy troupe in Dallas, FCC Presents showcases a talented group of black comedians. Creators of the black variety show The Blackout, the group has performed all over the DFW metroplex. Performers from the Improv group include Erin Harper, Jade Smith, and Osahon Agbon.
The hosts for the DBFF Comedy Experience are no strangers to the Denton Black Film Festival. Mary Flowers Boyce is a writer/comedian and former head writer for the nationally syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show. She has volunteered, written for, and co-hosted events at the Denton Black Film Festival for the past 7 years. Anthony “Ant” Johnson is a film critic based out of Houston, Texas. He’s been a film critic for over 8 years now and is a proud member of African American Film Critics Association (AAFCA). He has a passion for film and in particular providing exposure to people of color in front of and behind the camera. He strongly believes who we are and where we come from factor heavily into how we will interpret a film. Hence why it is so important to have African American film critics.
The two have paired up to present DBFF events such as the 2021 & 2022 Filmmaker Selection Reveals and Award Show. This virtual has great expectations to bring laugher into your homes.
